Kaela & Robert _ A Joyful Summer Wedding at The Equinox Resort & Spa in Manchester, Vermont

Wedding couple at The Equinox Resort walking among the white pillars

Some weddings have a way of feeling joyful from the very first moment, and Kaela and Robert's celebration at The Meadow House at The Equinox Resort & Spa in Manchester, Vermont was exactly that. Tucked away on the beautiful Equinox property, The Meadow House offered the perfect blend of relaxed Vermont charm and elegant sophistication. Their day was filled with sunshine, heartfelt emotion, and an infectious sense of fun. From quiet, intimate moments shared during their first look to a dance floor overflowing with laughter later that evening, every part of the celebration reflected who they are as a couple—warm, genuine, adventurous, and completely in love.

Part of the historic Equinox Resort & Spa, The Meadow House provides a beautiful setting for couples who want the luxury and amenities of the resort while enjoying the privacy and character of a separate wedding venue. Surrounded by the beauty of Manchester and the Green Mountains, it offers wonderful opportunities for both candid moments and timeless portraits. As a Vermont wedding photographer, I always enjoy photographing weddings on the Equinox property because every celebration feels uniquely personal. Kaela and Robert embraced every moment—from getting ready with family and friends to exchanging heartfelt vows, celebrating during cocktail hour, and dancing the night away—and it was a privilege to document their unforgettable wedding day.

Getting Ready

The day began in two beautiful locations on the Equinox property. While Kaela spent the morning getting ready with her closest family and friends at The Meadow House, Robert prepared for the day in the historic Equinox Resort & Spa. There was an unmistakable sense of excitement in the air as the final details came together—hair and makeup were completed, the dress was carefully buttoned, cufflinks were fastened, and everyone paused to appreciate that in just a few short hours, two lives would become one.

Once he was ready, Robert met up with his groomsmen on the lawn for a spirited game of croquet—a wonderfully relaxed way to spend the final moments before seeing his bride. It was filled with laughter, a little friendly competition, and plenty of good-natured banter, perfectly reflecting the fun-loving atmosphere that would carry through the entire day. Soon it was time to put the mallets aside and make his way to one of the most anticipated moments of the day: the first look with Kaela.

One of my favorite parts of every wedding day is documenting these quieter moments before the celebration begins. The anticipation, happy nerves, laughter, and heartfelt interactions with loved ones tell an important part of the story, creating photographs that beautifully capture not only what the day looked like, but how it felt.

First Look

One of the most emotional moments of the day took place just behind the historic Equinox Resort & Spa, where a row of stately white columns created an elegant and timeless setting for Kaela and Robert's first look. As Robert turned to see Kaela for the first time, the excitement of the morning gave way to a quiet moment shared between just the two of them. There were smiles, laughter, and a few happy tears as they took in the reality that their wedding day had finally arrived.

Choosing a first look gave Kaela and Robert the opportunity to slow down, enjoy a few private moments together before the ceremony, and soak in the excitement without an audience. It also allowed us to create many of their romantic portraits while they were feeling relaxed and fully present—resulting in photographs that are both natural and deeply meaningful.

Family Moments & A Walk to the Ceremony

After their first look, Kaela and Robert spent a few quiet moments with close family members before gathering for additional portraits with their wedding party. With the beautiful grounds of The Equinox Resort & Spa as a backdrop, we captured a wonderful mix of elegant, classic portraits and fun, candid moments that perfectly reflected the joy and excitement of the day.

When the portraits were complete, Kaela and Robert made the short walk together to The Meadow House for their ceremony. It was a lovely transition—from the intimacy of their portraits to the anticipation of exchanging vows with the people who meant the most to them. Walking across the beautiful Equinox property gave them a few more moments to simply enjoy being together before the celebration officially began. As guests gathered at The Meadow House, the excitement continued to build, and it wasn't long before everyone took their seats in anticipation of a heartfelt ceremony.

A Heartfelt Ceremony at The Meadow House

Surrounded by family, friends, and the beautiful Vermont landscape, Kaela and Robert exchanged vows on the lawn at The Meadow House. It was a ceremony filled with genuine emotion, heartfelt promises, and more than a few smiles as the two officially began the next chapter of their lives together. With the Green Mountains providing a stunning backdrop and their loved ones gathered close, every moment felt both intimate and joyful. As they shared their first kiss as husband and wife and walked back up the aisle hand in hand, they were greeted with enthusiastic cheers, warm embraces, and the unmistakable excitement that only follows the beginning of a lifetime together.

Cocktail Hour

Following the ceremony, guests gathered on the lawn at The Meadow House to enjoy cocktail hour while soaking in the spectacular mountain views and warm summer afternoon. It was the perfect opportunity for family and friends to reconnect, share stories, and celebrate the newlyweds over drinks and delicious hors d'oeuvres. Meanwhile, Kaela and Robert mingled with their guests, accepting hugs, congratulations, and well wishes before everyone made their way inside for the evening's festivities. The relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, and joyful conversations made cocktail hour a wonderful bridge between the emotion of the ceremony and the excitement of the reception to come.

An Elegant Reception Filled with Music, Flowers & Celebration

As guests entered the reception, The Meadow House had been transformed into a warm and inviting celebration space. Beautiful floral designs by Nancy Bishop Floral Design added timeless elegance throughout the room, with lush arrangements that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the venue and the joyful spirit of the day.

Once dinner concluded, The New York Players took the stage and kept the energy soaring from the very first song. Their incredible musicianship and infectious enthusiasm had the dance floor packed all evening, creating an unforgettable celebration filled with laughter, dancing, and nonstop fun. From heartfelt toasts and the couple's first dance to the final songs of the night, every moment reflected Kaela and Robert's love for one another and the incredible community of family and friends who came together to celebrate with them.
