Winter Engagement Photography Session in Woodstock, VT
Feb 11, 2018 | By: Sally Carpenter Photography
When Meredith and Anthony had their engagement photography session with me here in Woodstock, Vermont, I was a little dubious of the weather as it was showing snow...which is wonderful, changing to rain...which is not so wonderful. Although I can shoot in the rain, freezing rain is not the best condition for a photo session, your hair gets wet, everything gets wet and it is much damper and actually feels colder than just snow, but the rain stayed away and we were able to get almost an hour and a half of engagement photos before it was time to call it a day.
Because of all the snow we have had this month, Featherstonewas not really an option for outdoor photos as the snow was much too deep, so we headed to Billings Farm in Woodstock. This is one of my favorite spots as the selection of backgrounds and wooded areas is almost unlimited, from the stand of cedar trees and apple orchards to the hiking trails up Mt. Tom.
Here are a few photos we took on the sidewalk with the farm buildings and apple trees in the background.
I just love using a prime lenses and my new 85 1.4 Art lens is amazing. Here are a few photos showing the Bokeh and gorgeous effect of this beautiful lens.
Meredith and Anthony's wedding will take place at The Inn at Manchester this summer, another favorite venue of mine and I can't wait until their wedding day. Having photographed several weddings there in the past, I know the best locations and even a few "secret" ones so they will be sure and have some wonderful summer wedding day portraits to compliment their winter engagement photos.
