As some of you know I have been living in London since the middle of January and have been invited to do some amazing portrait sessions here. Although I do miss Woodstock, Vermont and look forward to a full wedding and portrait season when I return, London will always remain one of my favorite cities in the world.
Recently Triciann Allen of Morgenbyrd Photoart and I had the opportunity to do a photo session with the lovely and talented Natalie Shay. Natalie is a multi award-winning, indie pop/rock artist from North London. She is also considered one of London’s hottest emerging talents.
We decided to meet at Regent's Park. When I am in London, it is one of my favorite areas for portrait photography as it is a little less busy than the better known Hyde Park and someplace I can actually walk to with all my equipment. There are lakes, gardens, ornate gates and fountains all within a short walk, but unfortunately our time ran out and we did not get to shoot in all the areas I had scouted ahead of time.
We started the photo session under this stand of trees and to our surprise and delight a squirrel appeared and actually "photo bombed" a few of my shots.
Here are a few more photos from the same area, just inside the Lancaster Gate. Back home in Vermont I have a portable leaf blower I often use for the "wind" effect but it would have been a bit difficult to travel with, so when the wind started to blow I was so happy to be able to take advantage of it.
We took a few more photos there and then moved on to the fountain and giant planter in the formal gardens. I love it when there are fountains available in my wedding and portrait photography as there is the opportunity to shoot through the water as well as using it as an interesting background.
So, I will be living in the UK until the first of May and have several more exciting portrait photography sessions planned. I am also fully booked for May weddings but still have a few openings for 2019 Vermont and New England weddings and portrait sessions. Please contact me if you are interested in booking me, or if you would just like to meet over a cup of coffee or glass of wine and discuss your special wedding day or dream portrait session. If you are planning a Vermont elopement or small family wedding please see my A Wedding Awaits blog for more information.
